About Me

Hey, y’all! My name is Lydia, and I’m a southern belle whose happy place is in the kitchen. Where I come from, when you’ve “got a good scald” on somethin’, it means that it tastes delicious!

I’m a born-and-raised Texan and live in a small town outside of Houston with my husband, son, and Rottweiler. I am a Licensed Social Worker and a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, and have worked in the long-term care industry since college. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to become a stay-at-home mom since the birth of my son (and now baking assistant).

I have the fondest childhood memories of fixin’ up something in the kitchen with my sister, parents, and grandmothers. I especially love baking sweet treats and sharing with others. There’s just something about seeing the joy on a person’s face when they take that first bite! I am an extroverted homebody and enjoy the heck out of hosting large potluck-style family gatherings, whether it’s to celebrate a holiday or just because. It doesn’t get much better than family and food.

Many of my recipes are inspired by my southern roots, while others are inspired by my husband’s Latin roots. As a busy mom, I try to keep my recipes easy to make (and easy to clean up)! I like to use fresh ingredients and avoid highly-processed ingredients when possible. Whatever it is that I have cookin’, I can certify-guarantee that it will be made with a whole lotta love.
